Tiguan

Rainer Zietlow and his team are driving a new 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan TSI with 150hp and 7-gear DSG. The car was produced in the Russian Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, 180km South of Moscow. The Tiguan has a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which produces 150 hp/5000 rpm and 250 Nm/1500 rpm.

For the new world record drive the Volkswagen Tiguan was slightly modified with an additional LED high-beam light in front and a 170 litres additional fuel tank and two additional tires in the luggage compartment. Due to the heavy load the rear springs have been changed to stronger Eibach springs.

The Tiguan uses a new and standard battery from Exide AGM Start / Stop to keep all electronic devices running. For driving on all road condition on this 12.000 km long world record, the Tiguan got the new tires CrossContact LX 20 Sport from Continental. A Rival aluminium plate protected the engine from stone hits. Magna Exterior plant in Kaluga produced the complete front end of the Tiguan and proves its quality product with supporting this world record drive.
